HISTORY
EndZone Productions, Inc. was
founded by Mason Scott Storm in early 1993. At the time, there was no
intention of creating a business, in fact, there was no intention of ever making
another video photo album again.
It was Mother's Day and Mr. Storm who was attending I.P.F.W. and residing at Canterbury Green apartments could not afford a 'decent' gift for the holiday. This inspiration would develop into the Memories On Video photo transfer service. Because his mother was a shutter-bug, he took several of her favorite photographs, a camcorder, and one of her favorite songs, "I Can See Clearly Now", and created a video photo album. By her account, it was the most thoughtful and touching gift he had ever given her.
The story would end right there, except she showed friends at work who wanted videos of their own for various occasions. Over the next several years, the transfer process, a meticulous job of videotaping every photo individually, was refined. Titlescreens were created using Mario Paint on the family Super Nintendo and each one-of-a-kind video was painstakingly created. The transfer process was too tedious and time-consuming (a video would take 3 days to make) to consider it anything more than just a hobby...until it went digital.
The cameras, Super Nintendo and video effects equipment was replaced by
the PC in 1996, and the hobby now operated under the business name Video
Art. Video Art made its public debut at the WMEE Baby Fair & Family
Expo in February 1997. Over the next 3 years, systems were upgraded, the
transfer program saw 4 version changes, custom length videotapes and sleeves
were added and videotape face and spine labels were added to personalize each
video. With the exception of the original 1997 WMEE promotion, there was
absolutely no marketing or advertising done by Video Art, all jobs came via
referrals and word of mouth. Each year, the numbers of inquiries
increased, and by summer of 2000, it was clear that this photo transfer service
had the potential of becoming a full-time business.
Over the summer of 2000, Mr. Storm laid-out the groundwork to create his business and by Christmas, everything was ready to roll, except the name. Because the business plan included a website, and there was already a registered video art dot com, the business name had to be changed so potential customers would be able to locate it by name alone on the internet...enter EndZone Productions.
As it happens, Mr. Storm is a huge Miami Dolphins fan, and the naming
of the business coincided with 2000-2001 football season. In November
2000, endzoneproductions.com was registered, and in April 2001, EndZone
Productions, Inc. was incorporated. On July 3, 2001, Mr. Storm left his
job as VB/FoxPro programmer to devote all his time to EndZone Productions.
If is for this reason that the 'birthday' of EndZone is celebrated on July
4. A fifteen month media campaign was launched on WAJI and WOWO
respectively. Advertising in the Yellow Pages replaced all radio and is
currently the only form of advertising utilized by EndZone Productions,
Inc.
Shortly after the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11,
2001, The EndZone Productions logo was modified by adding an American Flag to
the left corner. And due to the length of endzoneproductions.com,
epdvd.com was acquired to make it easier for customers to email and reach the
website with getting carpel tunnel syndrome. For the next several years,
there were no major changes or modifications in advertising, logo design or
business practice. In December 2005, owner Mason Storm decided
that EndZone Productions was not a descriptive enough business name for the type
of work that was performed. He set out, and in 2006, acquired the domain
names photosalive.com and picturealive.com. "These names more represent
what the cornerstone of our business is...making your photos come alive."
While there is no intention of changing the business name, Photos Alive will be
marketed and promoted as an individual service.
"I just thank God for all his wonderful
blessings, the customers for their patronage and my family for supporting me in
this endeavor. I don't know what tomorrow brings, but today is always
wonderful."
- M. Storm
